Marriage is a permanent relationship between a man, a woman and God. This pre-marital counseling is a one-day seminar, which envisions a thorough preparation for this lifetime bonding. It clarifies the values of married life and enriches the idea of commitment and responsibility, to allow participants to discover the possible areas of potential conflict and difficulties. It also gets the couple to discern about the areas that they may not have considered in depth in their relationship.

TIPANAN NG MAG-ANAK
(Family Enrichment and Dialogue)
This is a family encounter where the participants are given the opportunity to see their family from a distance. Some family games, mapping abd floor planning are used to create a wholesome family atmosphere. Certain skills are taught to promote peace and harmony at home.

DEALING WITH MIDLIFE
A formation seminar for individuals who are in their midage. This seminar tackles individual changes that are to be expected in this life stage and how best to adjust to them. Included are discussions on physical changes, changes in life view, spirituality and needs.

SPOUSING AND PARENTING IN MID-YEARS
A formation seminar for couples and parents in their mid-age. This program tackles the impact of midlife on the marital relationship, a couple's sex life and relationship with children. It is not unusual for couples to be in conflict in this life stage, seek extramarital distractions and clash with their kids commonly in their teens at this time. Tips on how to adjust better in this age are discussed.

GRANDPARENTING
A formation seminar for senior citizens and individuals/couples approaching late adulthood. Special focus on the invaluable contribution of grandparents, especialy in this critical times when most parents are unavailable due to migration , marital difficulties or emotional abandonment.

GROWING OLD GRACEFULLY
A formation seminar for senior citizens who are now dealing with issues of facing death, declining health and loss of mobility. The workshop reinforces the purpose of life and allows older people to reconcile with the decisions that they have made in their lives and prepare what is to be passed to the next generation.

DEALING WITH THE IRRESPONSIBLE SPOUSE
A seminar workshop that aims to assist functional spouses in empowering their partners. The intervention focuses on what to do in the here and now and have a prospective orientation rather than going back to childhood. The systemic sources and reinforcers of irresponsibility are given to make the sposes aware of their contribution. Discussions and workshops on the different kinds of "irresponsible spouses" such as the pull down spouse, manipulative spouses and spouses with low intensity depressions are made and specific interventions for each kinds are taught. May also be conducted as a premarital orientation program.

REINVENTING RELATIONSHIPS: Sleeping with your spouse the stranger
A seminar workshop for couples designed to pinpoint which factors in a marriage are ingredients for success and which are love busters. There is a special emphasis on strategice living together. This means an increased responsiveness to needs that differ through the different developmental stages of couples. Examples include being able to consciously decide which issues are worth fighting over, which sacrifices are really helpful and how to negotiate changes.

SASAMA (Sanggunian sa Maralita/Counseling for the Poor)
Counseling can happen at any unexpected time. Since problems of people are not scheduled , this seminar-workshop on basic counseling skills is an intensive training of basic helping skills , which will empower the helper to offer counseling services any time the need arises. It enables the participants to learn the basic skills and at the same time to get to know his/her real self. It offers audio and video workshop , which will open the doors to hear and see one's self and eventually give an awareness of healing and transformation.

ADVANCED COUNSELING FOR THE POOR
There are cases that basic skills cannot handle. This seminar-workshop aims to enhance the theory and practice of basic counseling by equipping the participants with new models of counseling using Bowen's Family Systems Therapy, Genogram Processing, Gestalt Therapy and Dreamworks.

FMS (FAMILY MINISTRY SEMINAR)
This seminar aims to impart the fundamentals of being a family minister. Included in the workshop are the family minister's role and functions and the skills one needs in assessing and intervening with families. A very important skill needed is the assessment of the relationship among each family member and how the task of pastoral services can be done given the situation. Assessment tools are also discussed.

CONTEMPORARY MARRIAGE COUNSELING
This seminar will define the authentic meaning of love in the different dimensions of life and stages of existence. It aims to enhance the marital relationship in the midst of losing the feeling of love. It enables the participants to transform the meaning of love according to Christian tradition as it deepens the partticipants' personal and conjugal relationship with God and with one another. Likewise, it will acquaint the participants with the rudiments of marriage counseling. Special emphasis will be given on the assessment of couple conflict and counseling models for problematic situations.

PASTORAL FAMILY COUNSELING
The Pastoral Family Counseling provides the participants with diagnostic tools that will help them acquire a workable understanding of family relational problems. It takes into account that the family is made up of different individual members with different personalities. An understanding of the family as a system will enable members to evoke the problems encountered and the suited interventions that would be most helpful in given situations. Family relations will be assessed using the Life Space Diagram, Mapping, and the Family Floor Plan Method. Basic intervention will be taught by means of input, demonstration and workshop.

GESTALT THERAPY TRAINING
Gestalt Therapy has become a comprehensive philosophy, theory and methodology of human healing. Out process-orientation, person-in-environment perspective and a focus on the expansion of awareness, wholeness and dialogue presents us with a new understanding of the evolution of humankind. This is a unique blend of existential, phenomenological (present focused) and process-experiential approaches developed by Fritz Perls and Dr. Laura Perls.

CRISIS COUNSELING
Crisis counseling is said to be an upset in a steady state, a critical turning point that leads to better or worse. When one experiences this state, negative feelings arise and often lead to mounting tensions and stress.

This one-day seminar will enable a person in crisis and his care-provider to identify the stress producing situations as well as the indicators that will distinguish families or organizations in acute crisis from those in chronic crisis and how to deal with them.

Some families are hurt because of drugs and alcoholism. This seminar will provide support systems for these families as it aims to provide practice and curative approaches. It is a multi seminar until the drug and alcohol dependents are rehabilitated.

When both spouses were alive and living together, chores were shared as well as responsibilities, like providing for the family, budgeting, nurturance and upbringing of the children. After the death or abandonment of one’s spouse, all responsibilities fall on the surviving/remaining spouse including earning a living. The seminar-workshop is one way for children and the solo parent to learn and cooperate with each other in living their new life. This seminar-workshop aims to transform participants into new individuals who are stronger, more sensitive and sympathetic. DAMAYAN also provides care for the emotional well being of separated couples, widows and single parents.

MINA (Minang Minamahal)
MINA is a values clarification program for the children of the separated and the abandoned. The term MINA is used to connote the unearthing of the treasure within these hurting individuals. The seminar aims at providing an avenue for ventilation, emotional support, and assistance in order for these children to functionally cope with their situation. MINA can be given in formats suitable for young children, teenagers and young adults.

“There is dignity in dying… there is life after life… there may be miracle.” Banig is a program that enriches the skills and knowledge of the community health workers and hospice caregivers in psycho-emotional care of oneself, of the chronically ill and dying patients, and their families. It is also a medical mission program. It is also given to families of the chronically ill and dying.

From UGAT's ANAK seminars , it was noted that support should also be given to guardians (usually grandparents or siblings of migrants) of children of overseas workers. Among issues addressed are their feelings about the situation, their relationship with their ward and definition of responsibilities and limitations are guardians.

KAPMU (KAPILING MULI)

A formation seminar taht offers assistance in order to identify adjustment problems caused by long-term separation. It looks for opportunities for full family reconcillation after such separation.

This provides a more in-depth workshop on helping skills for agencies and the like woring with migrant workers. A 2 day workshop on marital counseling, dynamics of employer-employee relations and other relationships. Special stress on conflict resolution techniques for group conflicts aiming to enhance intervention skills among expatriates.


RAISING FUNCTIONAL FAMILIES WHILE ABROAD:
This seminar-workshop provides support on how to raise a family even from overseas. To be tackled are characteristics of well and troubled families separated by migration, with special stress on the issue of dependency.
